The Acer Chromebook 714 features an extremely robust and robust design,
as it is made of an all-metal structure, it is extremely solid and provides you with long-term durability in use.
Done by weight, it is a fairly thin device with a length of 1.8 cm, but despite that the sturdy structure means that it weighs 1.6 kg, you can carry it with ease, but it looks much larger and bulkier than the 13-inch Ultrabook.
made of an all-metal structure, it is extremely solid and provides you with long-term durability in use.
The large top edge provides plenty of room for a convenient webcam location, which is a clear blessing in this era of video conferencing.
The device also comes with a small 45W charger.
The top and bottom edges are extra thick and tough, which rivals many thinner devices today and would prevent the Acer Chromebook 714 from looking terribly contemporary.
The Chromebook 714 also includes a fingerprint reader, but it can only be used when you sign in to your laptop, rather than checking online services.
As for the ports, there is a USB-C port on both sides of the case, which is really useful as you can easily choose which side you want to connect to charge or connect to an external monitor.
There’s also a traditional USB-A port and a microSD reader.
The device has the basic ports that meet your various needs.
Keyboard and Touchpad
As for the keyboard, it is comfortable with a decent amount of mobility, but there is a slight but noticeable popup for the keys.
It has the typical Chromebook layout, but if you want to switch the top row for function keys or toggle the search key for Caps Lock, you can do that with adjustments from the settings.
As for the backlight, it has five levels of brightness; All you have to do is press Alt plus the screen brightness key in the top row to adjust.
The touchpad is smooth, simple, responsive, and large, but it contains very little crackle when you tap, which takes away a bit of the 714’s premium feel.
One of the strengths that counts for the Acer Chromebook 714 is its impressive battery life, as when testing it lasted more than 13 hours in trucking, when testing the 720p video playback.
But if you use the device to browse the web in general, it will work all day, this laptop is very good to work for more than 10 hours originally without fear of charging it.
Acer Chromebook 714 has a 14-inch 1080p screen, and has adequate color accuracy and viewing angles, but it lacks some brightness and accuracy in bringing out details.
This Chromebook with a native performance chop is capable of much more than just web browsing and media consumption, thanks to its quad-core Intel Core i5-8250U CPU.
And one thing I didn’t like is that Chromebooks rely heavily on the idea of the cloud rather than local storage, thanks to the 128GB eMMC SSD.
