The Audeze Penrose X headphones are very impressive, they provide excellent sound quality to gamers and audiophiles, but in return the microphone is low level and has a continuous and audible hissing.

Fast Talk
The Audeze Penrose X headphones are a gift for people who love games and song lovers in general, as they live up to the company’s excellent reputation for providing excellent sound quality, but it is an expensive gaming headset, although it is some of the problems that we will talk about later.
The Audeze Penrose X headphones are an always-on active pair, so some white noise can occur during use and be difficult to block out.
But while playing the game, we were able to choose the details of the sound, for example the bass was tight and heavy, thanks to the flat 100mm magnetic motors that were expertly tuned to provide superior detail and clarity.
The Audeze Penrose X headphones also provide excellent imaging and an impressively spacious sound stage, they are very ideal for Xbox Series X, especially Dolby Atmos, where the virtual flat equalizer of the headphones can be configured to provide a listening experience that suits you.
However, despite their high price, we found some problems with the controls and the microphone, as we found the controls impractical and the microphone disappointing due to the muted audio quality.
FOR
- Exceptional sound quality
- Compatible with PC
- Wireless or wired functions
AGAINST
- Latent hissing noise
- Tight clamping force
- Difficult controls
- Muffled microphone
Audeze Penrose X Design: Comes in a comfortable fit
Despite the exorbitant price of the Audeze Penrose X headphones, it has a design quality that you cannot complain about,
but given the all-plastic material and synthetic leather cushions, it does not bode well for the outstanding build quality,
and the green accents were very annoying, as it gave the headphones a cheap price that resembles a toy. external.
But Audeze has compensated for the headphone’s uninspiring look with some very good design decisions in my opinion, for example the rotating ear cups, which are handy if you want to rest the headphones around your neck with a detachable microphone, which gives the cases more versatility if You’re looking for a pair of headphones for outside gaming and don’t want the microphone plugged in.
As for the controls in the Audeze Penrose X, they are not quite good, but turning on the headphones was as easy as holding down the power button for three seconds, where you can then choose between Wireless, Bluetooth and Aux with the push of a button.

There is also a scroll wheel for the overall volume and microphone volume,
but the downside here was in setting the volume to exactly the desired level.
When we tried to balance the game and voice chat, we needed to press the microphone volume wheel, then raise or lower it to adjust the volume, and this was not easy.
The Audeze Penrose X headphones also have a 3.5mm jack, allowing you to switch to wires, so you can keep playing if you run out of battery.
The Audeze Penrose X has a top collar that provides extra head support but it doesn’t fit all
so if you are pressure sensitive, be aware that these headphones will hug your head firmly.

Audeze Penrose X Features: The microphone is a little disappointing
As for battery life, the Audeze Penrose X headphones have adequate battery life.
You will get 15 hours of playback time after a three-hour charge, thanks to the USB-C input.
Overall we didn’t encounter any connectivity issues, the included 2.5GHz dongle is great as it works effortlessly, and there is a little switch so you can select Xbox mode or PC mode.

One of the things that we did not like about the Audeze Penrose X headphones is the quality of the microphone,
as during the tests and when making contact with one of my friends it seemed muffled and muddy,
if we were underwater, and we also tried to remove the pop filter, but the problem still exists.
Unfortunately, you also cannot use the Audeze HQ app with iOS devices. You will not be able to set the Bluetooth, microphone, and volume / volume in-game on your phone, and you also cannot switch between five equalizer settings on the go.

Audeze Penrose X Performance: Amazing gaming experience
As for the audio performance, the Penrose X headphones have amazing sound quality, as not only does the Audeze Penrose X raise the volume properly,
but it also provides you with superb accuracy, providing you with an amazing gaming experience.
During our tests, we detected audio signals that we were not aware of when playing old titles, so the performance when using a spatial audio format like Dolby Atmos was outstanding.
And it performed very well in terms of gaming, as we never failed to hear footsteps creep in from the back or had any trouble determining the exact location of the shot.
The sound quality of these headphones is truly exceptional thanks to their large, planar magnetic drivers of 100mm and frequency response range from 10Hz to 50kHz.
But what really bothered us was that there was a noticeable and persistent hissing of sound which unfortunately smears the whole experience, as you will be able to hear a low level of white noise.

Conclusion
In general, the Penrose X headphones provide great speaker quality that is suitable for games and listening to different songs,
you will really enjoy the wide soundstage and the powerful bass that closed headphones can provide.
The Audeze Penrose X headphones respond well to every type of spatial audio format that we tested
as Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic and 3D audio for PS5, as they deliver excellent imaging and detailed sound.
One of the great things is that the Audeze Penrose X headphones come with a 3.5mm aux / analog input,
and also supports Bluetooth technology for Android users and works on a PC.
But if you’re sensitive to white noise, the Audeze Penrose X has a subtle whisper that can be heard whenever it’s quiet.
It also has a microphone quality that is not good, as our voice sounded muffled and unclear, as if we were underwater.

Hello, I read your blog on a regular basis. Your writing style is
awesome, keep up the good work!
I was very satisfied. I put it on and showed it to a friend immediately after receiving it. She didn’t realize that I was wearing a wig, but that I had too much hair.
