The Beats Flex branded wireless earphones are reasonably priced, but we were a little disappointed when it came to sound quality and design.
Fast Talk (Beats Flex)
Beats Flex Wireless Earbuds are very affordable, and this is very cool for many people, as Beats headphones have the clear traditional Beats sound, but what they aspire to more than that will be a little disappointed.
The Beats Flex also comes with a very traditional design with many of the same features as other Beats headphones.
But one of the great features that you will be dazzled by for the price is the Apple W1 wireless chip with built-in auto-start / pause sensor.
The battery life here is also very good, the battery will last up to 12 hours with Fast Fuel and this is a very impressive technology, as it is a laser cut micro-ventilation chamber to reduce pressure inside the ear.
The Beats Flex wireless earbuds were announced on September 13, 2020, and were launched in two colors – Beats Black and Yuzu Yellow, then in January 2021, and then added two other color options, Smoke Gray and Flame Blue.
And the Beats Flex comes at $ 49.99, which is the cheapest wireless headphones the company has ever launched.
The Beats Flex is the obvious choice for people who carry new Apple phones, as they need a pair of headphones after Apple removed the headphones bundled from the latest iPhones.
- reasonable price
- Fast shipping
- Auto play / pause
- The sound is sharp v-shaped
- Difficult fit without the wings
- Limited codec support
Beats Flex: Small Design with Very Great Features
The Beats Flex is very similar to the older BeatsX wireless headphones release in 2016, both are wireless but not really wireless.
The Beats Flex are completely lightweight, at 18.6 grams, and the wire between them is about 32 inches long and wraps around the back of your neck.
I don’t know what is useful in putting a wire behind your head, and connecting my earphones via a cable is not exactly what we consider the ideal solution in 2020, but it is not a big problem.
But this wire between the two earphones can provide a place to control the volume in the line,
and it is consider a multi-feature button and a larger battery,
which allows the headphones to work for a longer period between charges, and this is a great feature as well.
The Beats Flex earphones have a sensor that automatically pauses the music when removed, and resumes the music when you restart it, and also provides you with a lot of battery life.
Speaking of the battery
the charging is done through the USB-C port on the left side of the earbuds,
and these wireless earphones have a battery life of up to 12 hours with a fast charging
that can provide an hour and a half of playback after a 10-minute charge.
The biggest mistake in the Beats Flex design is that they do not come with the tips of the wings to attach to your ear,
as you can get that perfect seal that is difficult and can be easily undone.
Finally, the Beats Flex comes with a few different ear tips, which help you make finding the perfect fit.
Beats Flex: It offers very good performance, but it is aim For more at Apple phones
After trying several combinations of ear tips, we finally came up with a decent seal and were finally able to test the sound quality
In terms of sound quality, the Beats Flex Wireless In-Ear Headphones deliver a deep V-shaped sound that accentuates the highs and lows of the sound spectrum.
We did several tests and Find that the sound quality was actually relatively clear
for a pair of earphones, as we listened to One Day and the sound was very clear.
And when we turn on Spotify, it was smooth and there was no sound interruption or delay during testing, stability is a big boon to the Beats Flex.
There are bass classics like Rick James’ Super Freak, which make the bass sound great as it sounds rich, but unfortunately this song also highlights how anemic sounds in the middle, but there is also no real way to adjust the EQ and that’s an additional drawback.
And for pairing
if you use the Beats Flex with an iOS device, you’ll have to pair it with your Apple ID and iCloud which takes less than a minute.
For those who only own Apple phones, there is also a new audio sharing feature from iOS that allows you to share music between two pairs of headphones.
But if you are using Android, you will have to pair it like a regular pair of Bluetooth earphones, but here it will take you some time, and I will have a bit of a problem with the sound quality since the Beats Flex does not support advanced audio codecs like aptX. Or aptX HD, only SBC and AAC.
No noise canceling technology in the Beats Flex Earphones, the right ear tips can only help provide some passive noise isolation by closing the ear canal.
Call quality was great too, as the people we spoke to using eardphones said we were awesome, which indicates that Beats Flex are good for working from home or out of town.
In terms of battery life, the Beats Flex provides decent battery life.
You will get about 12 hours of use per charge, and the charging will only take about an hour.
In addition to providing fast charging, there is a Fast Fuel that provides an hour and a half of charging for only 10 minutes.
The Beats Flex Wireless Earbuds are a fairly straightforward alternative if you need a pair of headphones for the new Apple phones, after removing the earbuds from the new iPhone cases.
The Beats Flex comes with crisp and clear sound, they are consider to be a pair of the best in-ear headphones from the brand, as they offer most of the same features as the other more expensive Beats headphones.
It has a very cool feature, which is the Fast Fuel feature, by which you can provide a battery life of up to an hour and a half from charging for only 10 minutes.
However, there are some concessions against the price and this makes sense. For example, the Beats Flex does not contain all the advanced features such as Siri hands-free and Active Noise Cancellation technology.
