The MSI Clutch GM41 Mouse falls into the lightweight category, it has great build quality with performance that really helps prepare you for competitive FPS games.
Although the MSI Clutch GM41 gaming mouse is extremely lightweight, we will not be able to compare it to the other heavyweight competitors.
It also comes without a honeycomb body or fully lit RGB lighting, but overall it is a nicely specialized gaming mouse that’s built for FPS games that don’t waste time sticking to current design trends.
The MSI Clutch Mouse GM41 is built with every component so robust that each component is as lightweight as possible, weighing only 65 grams (2.3 oz).
Its light weight does not mean that it is lean in structure, the MSI Clutch GM41 is sturdy and well built, with no body part bent or bent despite the apparent thinness of the plastic.
It’s great to use, as we didn’t notice any crackles while using the mouse when testing standard gameplay.
MSI Clutch GM41 has a 1ms polling rate that’s equally impressive, as the MSI Clutch GM41 PixArt optical sensor proves to be extremely accurate in response, so you won’t feel any glitches while gaming, which is essential if you are looking for a new mouse to play your favorite games comfortably.
As we said the MSI Clutch GM41 Mouse is extremely lightweight and extraordinarily designed for one purpose, it proves that you don’t need the glamorous “gaming” aesthetics to prove that they deserve to be included alongside other favorite products.
The MSI Clutch GM41 Mouse is an affordable peripheral device, but don’t aspire for much.
It won’t magically make you a better player, but equipping yourself with this removes any excuse based on your previously questionable choice of previous PC game accessories.
- Great attention to build quality
- Responsive buttons and scroll wheel
- Great mouse sensor
- The cable is stiff and cumbersome
- Right hand only
- DPI switch site is frustrating
The MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight Mouse now comes in at $ 54.99, £ 49.99, AU $ 71.99.
There are various alternatives at a similar price, for example the Logitech G305 Lightspeed $ 59.99 (£ 51.99, approx. $ 75 AU), which is a great and lightweight gaming mouse.
Clutch GM41: Very Lightweight Design
In terms of design, the MSI Clutch GM41 mouse is more relaxing than other peripherals for games released recently, it is very lightweight and has a silent aesthetic, as the mandatory RGB lighting is limited to the MSI logo and can be easily programmed via the free Dragon Center program, but we were annoyed. Slightly place it on the top of the mouse instead of lighting the bar around the sides, as this means that you won’t actually see any of the lighting you’ve chosen when you rest your palm on it.
It has a plastic back that gives a shiny metallic look which is a nice touch, the mouse comes to match the rubber side handles of the mouse with the subtle shade of the chassis, creating an overall finish that doesn’t make the woven rubber stand out.
The MSI Clutch GM41 mouse also has side handles that are an extremely thin layer of rubber over the hard plastic, and this of course help reduce the overall weight and create a thin three-dimensional texture that merges with the rest of the mouse sleeve.
At the heart of the grip is a glossy MSI logo that protrudes against the matte plastic casing, with contrasting white Teflon pads to enable the mouse to slide across surfaces without any resistance or friction.
The MSI Clutch GM41 is ergonomically design for right-handed users making it an unsuitable option for any left-handers, and it creates a comfortable place to rest your hand for hours on end, be it with a clutch or a comfort grip.
The MSI Clutch GM41 has six programmable buttons
including a rubber scroll wheel, and two of them are on the left side of the mouse within easy reach of your thumb.
We noticed that the size of the MSI Clutch GM41 and the distances of the buttons do not cause any problems, and you can also extend the range up to 16000 dpi, which is a good range for a mouse in this price range.
But what annoyed us a little bit was the button on the underside of the mouse, which would be frustrating for anyone switching between different DPI settings mid-game.
Clutch GM41: Very responsive and smooth performance
In terms of performance, the MSI Clutch GM41 Mouse works great, especially with games like Valorant and Apex Legends.
The PixArt optical sensor is highly sensitive, providing you with very smooth, fast and accurate cursor movement, but it will not magically improve the gameplay, just giving you the best tools to win your opponents.
The buttons themselves also come in very responsive and tactile, with both the left / right and side main buttons feeling powerful and clicking, the MSI Clutch GM41 is incredibly good, it won’t feel cheap, which is something that many ultra-light gaming mice fall victim to when sacrificing parts From design in favor of creating less weight.
Unfortunately, the wrong cable choice scored a negative point in the MSI Clutch GM41 Mouse, as it combines with a tightly braided USB cable to avoid friction, but unfortunately the result was a very tough wire, and this would impede the movement freely, we only aspired for a thinner wire that would provide less resistance.
MSI Clutch GM41 has a polling rate of 1000Hz and weighs only 65g, it is specially formulate for competitive FPS games.
If you’re willing to do without the honeycomb body and prefer a muted peripheral look, this is a great choice for both novice gamers.
The MSI Clutch GM41 Gaming Mouse is very impressive, it has lightweight sensors, and it maintains simple gaming aesthetics, as you can turn RGB off completely, as it has been modestly reduce compare to many of its competitors.
MSI Clutch GM41 has a comfortable and easy to use handle. Even after using the mouse for a hard day’s work and playing for several hours, we didn’t feel any discomfort.
But if you want a wireless mouse, this won’t be for you, especially since the cable on the MSI Clutch GM41 is a bit frustrating and stiff.
