Disable two configurations of the 21.5-inch iMac

Apple recently made some sad news about the iMac Pro, and this news now includes two configurations of the 21.5-inch iMac to Pro that they will be heading to retirement.

As spotted by MacRumors, the 512GB and 1TB SSD configurations of the 21.5-inch iMac are no longer available for purchase after that, only 256GB SSD and 1TB Fusion versions will be available, and you can purchase at Apple’s website.

Both configurations were now unavailable for purchase on Apple’s website as of last month (February), but at the time it was not entirely clear whether this was a supply issue or a final discontinuation of the two options.

But now definitively, the 512GB and 1TB SSD options are miss from the iMac configuration page.

There are some rumors talking about a major redesign of the iMac in the works, as Apple is expect to replace the two versions (27-inch and 21.5-inch) of the iMac with the redesigned iMac, and there are also announcements about a renewal of the Mac Pro sometime this year. In January, as Bloomberg reported that the update will have a somewhat different design as the design will come flat back and get rid of the “chin” at the bottom of the screen.

New iMacs are also expect to use Apple’s silicon chips, as it continues to move away from Intel chips.
