Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020) is the latest release of the flagship of the Taiwanese laptop, which has been refurbished
updated for 2020 with 10th-generation Intel processors
and new Nvidia RTX 2070 Super portable graphics cards.
As with last year’s model, the allure of Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020) stars,
apart from its advanced components, is the impressive AMOLED display from Samsung,
which is also Pantone color calibration, with 100,000: 1 contrast ratio and support
with 100% for the DCI-P3 color range.
This alone should tell you that Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020) is a laptop that mainly targets
creative professionals who need the most extreme colors, for example photographers and video editors.
Of course, the specs of Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (we’ll get to it soon)
means that it’ll make a massive gaming laptop as well, but gaming isn’t the main focus of this device.
Below are the specifications of Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020) sent to Ditching for review:

Gigabyte Aero 15 Price and specifications
Professionally calibrated 4K OLED display, along with sleek design
and some of the best portable technology around the world means that Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020) won’t be cheap
its starting price is £ 1699 (about $ 2,100, Australia3, $ 300),
which gives you a tenth-generation 6-core Intel Core i7-10750H processor, 16GB RAM, 1080p IPS display, and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.
Due to the increased price, the model we reviewed has an Intel Core i7-10875H Octa Core processor,
4K AMOLED screen, 16GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super. This costs $ 2,699 / £ 2499 / AU $ 4399.
Meanwhile, the fully selected edition with Nvidia RTX 2080 Super GPU GPU, 10th Generation
Intel Core i9-10980HK, 1TB HDD and 64GB RAM will bring you back to £ 4299
(about 5,300). Dollars, 8,300 Australian dollars).
So, this is an expensive laptop, but its price isn’t silly considering what you get for your money.
For example, the 16-inch MacBook Pro, with specifications comparable to the mid-range version, costs $ 2799 / £ 2799 / AU $ 4399
that’s with an older CPU and not as good a display as the one on the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020).
Gigabyte Aero 15 Design
Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED (2020) design is practical and attractive.
Since this is primarily a professional laptop, its design is silent enough
that you won’t get a strange look if you take out the laptop in meetings or in the office.
Features a completely black design, with a “Aero” logo on the cap.
With dimensions of 14 x 9.80 x 0.78 inches (355 x 248 x 19.8 mm)
and 4.40 lbs (2 kg), this laptop is impressively thin and light considering the powerful specs inside.
This is just a little thicker than the 16-inch MacBook Pro, and it’s the same weight.
Gigabyte Aero 15 Ports
However, Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED offers a selection of ports much better than the Apple Pro laptop.
On the left side, you’ll get a full size HDMI port, a mini DisplayPort port, USB 3.0, Ethernet, and a headphone audio jack.
On the right side there are two additional standard USB ports, a USB-C port, an SD card reader and a power port.
Unlike MacBook Pro, you can’t charge your laptop via USB-C port,
but in all other respects, Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED outperforms Apple laptop when it comes to port selection.
AERO 15 REVIEW
We mostly complained that the MacBook Pro – released as a professional laptop – only comes with four USB-C ports.
For professionals who use older peripherals, or photographers who need a card reader,
this means that you will have to purchase an adapter.
However, with Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED, this is not necessary.
Do you want to connect it to a monitor or projector? Use HDMI.
Photoshoot on a digital camera and need to be edited? Connect the memory card directly.
This makes a professional laptop more versatile, and although a little thicker than the MacBook Pro,
it’s not bulky, and it shows you can still get a slim laptop without sacrificing the ports.
When opening the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED, it feels more like a gaming laptop than on the outside,
thanks mainly to the LED RGB backlit keyboard
(thankfully, this can be turned off if you don’t want a small lighting disco A conference room when you are in a meeting).
As you’d expect of a laptop with this kind of hardware,
The Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED performs brilliantly, both when running creative apps and for gaming.
The new RTX 2070 Super mobile GPU (as well as the RTX 2080 Super)
offers a decent upgrade over the previous non-Super variant,
and combine this with the new 8-core Intel processor and you’ve got an incredibly powerful laptop
that can handle multiple tasks at once without too much issue.
While the RTX line of GPUs are primarily gaming-focused, there are creative benefits to them as well.
As an ‘RTX Studio’ laptop, the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED comes with Nvidia’s Studio drivers, rather than its game-ready ones,
so the likes of Adobe Premiere Pro, Redcine-X Pro, and Autodesk perform especially well.
Digital artists, 3D modelers and game developers can use Nvidia’s ray tracing features to create scenes with believable lighting effects,
and the Aero 15 OLED can handle editing raw 8K video files – a very intensive process.
Of course, it’s also a stellar performer when it comes to games,
and if you have the model with an RTX graphics card you can enjoy ray-tracing effects in games such as Metro Exodus and Control.
We played both on the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED, and they looked fantastic.
When it comes to battery life, the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED fares pretty well considering the powerful components inside.
In our battery life benchmark, which plays a looped 1080p video at 50% brightness,
the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED lasted almost five hours.
That’s pretty good for a powerful workstation/gaming laptop,
as these are often notorious for short battery lives of only a few hours.
The Aero 15 OLED also lasted five hours in the PC Mark 10 battery test,
which replicates day-to-day tasks.
So, while it’s not the longest-lasting battery, it’s one of the better performers for a workstation laptop.
However, the MacBook Pro comfortably beats the Aero 15 in the battery department.
