There was an issue with some Android apps crash for users, but Google fix it as soon as it happened.
The problem cause by a system component call the Android System WebView that apparently allowed Android applications to display web content.
But now Google is working on a fix that requires users to update their WebView for Android to version 89.0.4389.105 and Google Chrome to the latest version. Both are available on Google Play.
The problems started appearing on Monday afternoon and lasted about seven hours, according to the Google Workspace dashboard for Gmail.
But soon the company recommended using the desktop interface in order to solve existing problems in the shortest time.
Android apps crash: Google said in an official statement
“We are aware of a problem with WebView that causes some Android apps crash for some users.
“We are currently working on verifying the scope completely, and a fix will be as soon as possible.”
Indeed, some users said that removing the latest update to the WebView has solved the problem,
and Samsung’s official Twitter account for support in the US has recommend that exactly this step be taken until the problem is remove.
