The Harman Kardon Citation 200 is a smart speaker by Google Assistant, and it has the stylish look we love in the rest of the brand’s wireless headphones range.
- Stylish appearance
- IPX4 water resistance
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
- Extremely powerful sound
- No support for voice assistant without Wi-Fi
This is the Harman Kardon citation 200, portable smart speaker.
and this is going to be Harman kardon’s first full-fledged portable smart speaker
to compete with likes of the Bose home portable speaker and the Sonos move.
In the box you have an instruction manual, and we also have some product information,
your charging cradle is seated, you have a two pin plug and three pin plug ,
so you can choose whichever one suits you depending on your reg, and the speaker itself.
Once you get home, with the Citation 200 you will get all the functions of the Google Assistant speakerphone,
where you can ask questions on it, give commands and control your other smart home devices,
but the Google Assistant on the board only works when you are connected to Wi-Fi.
The device has a very good battery life, as it lasts long, reaching eight hours.
In terms of audio performance as well, if you have no problem with the bass sound,
this loudspeaker can accelerate you, as it is very extended and tends to distort other frequencies.

You got a great design, a lot of ports
The Harman kardon is quite huge, it’s much bigger than I thought it was going to be.
it has a very minimalistic design, very clean and simple, and it has this fabric mesh all around.
you also have a nice leather handle for carrying it around, looks sturdy and we’ll put together.
First of all you have your power button on the top, and then you have your voice assistant button and then you also have your Bluetooth connect button.
and then you have the volume rocker buttons, two microphones,
and there’s two openings at the top for the Microphones to pick up your voice.
as this a smart speaker that’ll pretty much for button controls, just five buttons at the buttons at the top nothing else.
and then you have the Harman cuddle logo crested at the front. then turning it to the back, you have a USBC port, so you can charge this up via USBC.
remember this is a smart speaker so it’s got wi-fi inbuilt as well.
and then you’ve got your microphone switch, so for you to turn on and turn off the Microphones. and then you have your charging cradle.
Citation 200 Features: Google Assistant, Wi-fi
As we said, the Citation 200 has an integrated Google Assistant loudspeaker,
which doubles as a control hub for your other smart home devices
such as the home camera, smart lights, and connected heat devices.
Also, having a voice assistant is useful in many things, as you can ask general questions to the Google Assistant if you want to know the weather today,
or it can give you more customized commands such as adding events to your calendar.
There is also a feature to call the Google Assistant, where you can summon it hands-free by either using the words “Hey Google” or “OK Google”, or you can do that by long pressing the button on the top of the speaker.
But the negative point of the speaker is that you can only access these smart features while connected to a Wi-Fi network,
but you can call the Google Assistant while connected to the speaker via Bluetooth,
and you will be directed to connect the quote to Wi-Fi via the Google Home app.
Citation 200 Battery Life
As for the battery life, it is very good, saving you about eight hours,
if you play your music at large volumes it may decrease further,
but it will be enough to get what you want.
You can charge the battery using the accompanying charging stand in the box
or using a USB-C cable, and it will reach a full charge in about three hours.
The Citation 200 speaker has Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity,
so you can conveniently stream music wirelessly from your phone or tablet when you are outdoors.
If you are going to use Citation 200 indoors, you can connect it to your home Wi-Fi network comfortably,
as we said that the net is only inside, and Google Chromecast and Apple AirPlay support you.
Performance: Great Audio, The Bass so loud
The Harman Kardon Citation 200 has a 25mm tweeter and 120mm tweeter.
The loudspeaker Citation 200 has a very powerful and clear sound,
as it has the ability to reach large volumes, and it also provides you with an incredibly powerful display when playing any music, but that point has many negative points
When listening to Little Simz – Boss, we found that the bass was so loud that it bothersome and tends to overpower the other frequencies in the song.
The quality was richer in sections of the romance series that sweep the track,
and there were many more details, and it was also rhythm-focused.
We also tested the speaker speaker listening to quiet music full of trees and water, the calm sounds beautifully, and the guitar sound was muffled but positively,
as it appeared warm and welcoming, but the bass sounded louder when we arrived at the half-piece, where the rest of the instruments kicked,
We have missed it blossoming some gentle pods that cut across the path.
But there are genres of music blossoming with the Citation 200 loudspeaker,
as Gorillaz – Slow Country sounded great with amazing bass lines, but the vocal melodies were jarring.
The Citation 200 loudspeaker does great at making the speaker sound good in the outdoors, where there are no walls for sound bounce.
By even connecting 200 to her siblings, you can create a multi-room sound setup; You can also pair two Citation 200s for stereo sound.
from the first impressions, this sounds very good, it’s crystal clear, you get lots of bass and the bass spreads across the whole room.
so if you love bass definitely, you’ll love this speaker. it’s like it’s not as loud as I thought it was going to be.
I think the sound signature is similar to the onyx studio 6.
