The Moto g10 has great performance for the price, along with an easy-to-use design, but there are much better options if you are able to spend more.

Fast Talk

Motorola’s Moto g10 comes at a very cheap price, with the leading phones in the market ten times what was sold in Motorola’s latest budget, it is refreshing to see such a premium phone at a competitive price.

It also comes with very good features, for example, the battery life of the Motorola brand is excellent.

The phone also comes with a set of quad cameras from the rear shooters, as well as a large screen, all linked to a fun plastic body.

Generally speaking Motorola is a reliable choice if you are on a tight budget, but if you can afford to spend a little more, then you have a choice of some more impressive devices.

The Moto g10 is now available in the United Kingdom, where it sells on sites like Motorola or John Lewis for 129 pounds, and if you are looking for other alternatives from the same product, there is the Moto g9 Power and its price is 179 pounds.

The Moto g10 could eventually reach the US, but Motorola has not hinted at when or what price it will be.

  • Amazingly cheap
  • Great battery life
  • Clean but useful user interface

Very Simple Design

With regard to the design of the Moto g10 phone, it is really cool, as it has simplicity and elegance at the same time, although plastic materials seem cheap compared to the elegant metal and glass structures of prestigious phones, but this is logical because we are talking about a cheap phone.

The Moto g10 is extremely lightweight, and the thicker-than-average sides add some durability to the phone’s feel.

Moto G10 Phone design

We didn’t like the wavy pattern on the back of the phone very much, but it doesn’t feel weird to hold it since the edges of the phone are still smooth.

We love Aurora Gray very much, as the gray turns bright purple in the right light.

Motorola tested the Moto g10 to IP52 specifications. This means the Moto g10 will ignore rain showers, but it will not be safe against heavy splashes or immersion in water.

Display: A little faded

The Moto g10 features a 6.5-inch screen, which is a reasonable size for the thick edges on all four sides, as it is at least a water notch at the top that holds the camera without sacrificing more screen space for a full frame.

The screen has an HD + LCD panel, but unfortunately it’s far from the best I’ve tried on a phone.

Moto G10 Phone display

During tests we found that it is not particularly bright at the best of times, and the extreme angles make seeing objects on the screen more difficult.

Watching Cardi B’s performance of “Up” looked so good, as her outfits turned up wonderfully bright. However, I have noticed how dark the screen is compared to other phones like the similarly priced Realme 7, which also uses an LCD panel.

The Moto g10 comes with a separate bottom speaker and is decent sized, which reproduces the distinctive Cardi b sounds loud and clear.

We also listened to Post Malone and Swae Lee’s Sunflower, and noticed how cool the cold vocals were, although it came at the expense of the rest of the mix and the rhythm and instruments were disappointingly silent.

Cameras: Capable camera in good light

As for the camera in the Moto g10, it has four sensors on the back of the phone, although it is an economical phone.

The main camera comes with a 48-megapixel camera with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, in addition to a 2-megapixel depth sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and finally an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the optics phone.

Moto G10 Phone Cameras

Comparing the Moto g10 to the Realme 7, a phone completely identical to the Motorola phone, the Realme 7 shot was brighter, but that comes at the cost of color.

But that reverses when we try a shot in night mode, as there was a lot of noise in the night sky on the g10 image, a shade of blue less pronounced than Realme produced.

And you can take some decent shots in decent light but it does drop when it comes to difficult shots in the dark or with moving subjects.

The slower internal components of the phone also show up with an interface that can be extremely slow and a shutter speed not quite present.

But overall

the Moto G10’s rear camera will do just fine if you take pictures to show off on social media, as it is capable of taking great photos if the frame matches and the sun is out.

But the issues with noise and noise start to appear as soon as you take a closer look at the details of these shots, and there is also no optical zoom, and we did not find the digital zoom that was really worth the effort.

The ultra-wide camera works well enough, but it also appears to add to the noise and distortion issues.

The Moto G10 comes with a night mode that boosts brightness and detail if you can keep the phone still for a few extra seconds, you can get some usable night shots from the Moto G10, but you will lose a lot of detail and sharpness in low light.

Impressive Battery Life , Software

The Moto g10 has a 5000 mAh battery inside, which is quite impressive as it is a larger battery than many of the current main batteries.

We are used to Motorola G-series phones to have excellent battery life when it comes to longevity, and the G10 is no exception.

During my tests, I was able to play my Moto g10 for about 24 hours of YouTube video via Wi-Fi on the g10 without stopping before it shutdown itself.

And you can fill the Moto g10’s huge battery for longer, as the included 10W charger fills the battery by 25% in 30 minutes, and fills up to 100% in two hours, and overall the battery size is large.

The Moto g10 works on MyUX, which is a slightly modified version of the Android system that you find on the Google Pixel device, and with it you will only get the basic set of Google applications when you set up the phone, allowing you to customize your home screens as you want.

Among the features in the Moto app is the combination of easy-to-understand texts and fun cartoon illustrations, and the ability to experiment with features before returning to the app.

There is also a “Peek Display”, and you can access this from the lock screen by clicking on one of the notification icons, which then displays a large portion of the message that was sent to you.

And if you like Google Assistant, the Moto g10 has a dedicated button to summon the assistant for you.

The only downside is that the user experience was slow to navigate the menus, and it was close to frustrating at times.

The Moto G10 comes with a very good performance for the price, as it has a Snapdragon 460 chipset and 4 GB of RAM.

During the tests, the Moto g10 managed to achieve 247 single-core scores and 1,130 multi-core scores on the Geekbench 5 scale, well below the already low 314 and 1437 Moto G Power scores, as well as our favorite cheap phone, Pixel 4a, 551 and 1647.

And in the 3DMark Wild Life graphics test, the Moto had a score of 250 points, 1.5 frames per second.

And for the games in the Moto g10, you will not find an enjoyable experience here, for example the 3D graphics of the game will appear in the lowest quality, so the Motorola phone could not display it at a fast enough frame rate.

For a device that covers the basics, the Motorola Moto g10 ticks all of the boxes. You have an Android architecture

The Motorola Moto g10 is smartly designed and easy to use, plus it has a battery that will last almost an entire day of continuous use, along with some acceptable camera capabilities, all for a relatively small fee.

But certainly there are some flaws in the Moto g10 experience, for example the low-resolution screen is dim and difficult to see from all sides, in addition to the low-power chipset, which means that you will struggle to play the latest games.

But overall it is a great device, being eminently functional in a way that few other phones have these days.
