The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super is a more powerful graphics card than its predecessor, although the performance increase is not as much as expected,
but it is very good for people with older models.
Just a glance
joining the NVIDIA super series of the Super refresh, we’ve got the RT act 2080 super.
will come as no shock to the system that the 2080 super is really designed to above the 2080 and then trailed just behind the 2080 TI.
the GPU that we’re looking at today is therefore not going to be revolutionary, it’s more of a facelift to existing tech.
externally the 2080 super founders Edition is identical to the 2070 super.
we get a dual fan arrangement and new mirror reflective treatments.
under the hood we’re still dealing with touring architecture and the tu-104 GPU.
and you’re gonna pay less for the 2080 super compared to the launch price of the original 2080, and so you’re looking at around 1209 in Australia, 669 in the UK, and then$6.99in the US.
- Great gaming performance with 1440p and 4K resolution
- Cheaper than the original RTX 2080
- Frame View is useful
- It is still very expensive
- Minimum performance gain on the RTX 2080

If you are aware of the performance and power of Nvidia Turing cards, you will realize that when you check Nvidia Super, you will find that it does not differ much from the first round of the cards that preceded it.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super, basically, will give you a somewhat more powerful RTX 2080 with 3072 CUDA cores, unlike the 2944 in the RTX 2080, with a boost clock of 1,815 MHz.
The improvement in performance added to the Nvidia Super cards is relatively slight, but it is still an improvement, as this improvement should help to boost performance, especially with games and applications that consume memory bandwidth.
But what is actually called an upgrade, is that you will get up to 15.5 Gbps of memory bandwidth, in addition to 14 Gbps in the standard RTX 2080.
On the hardware level, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super definitely delivers improved performance compared to the RTX 2080. However, that’s not really enough to blow anyone’s mind, like the RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 that has seen more with their super counterparts.
A new additional feature is FrameView, which is a more modular program and a more refined API.
Also, this feature will also determine the amount of power your graphics card consumes, without ever having to rely on external devices.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super features 3072 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 clocked at 15.5Gbps.
While testing the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super, we noticed a 4-6% increase in performance compared to the vanilla RTX 2080.
When we tested the power of the RTX 2080 Super in games, the improvement in performance was most evident in games like Metro Exodus and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, where we were able to play at maximum settings at 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled.
The RTX 2080 Super’s slight rise in performance made a big difference to the graphics card, which was at a very poor level for 4K playable performance in the first place, with a 4-6% performance improvement representing an improvement.
Although AMD is trying to enter the competition with all its might, to be fair to Nvidia, AMD still doesn’t have anything close to the raw in-game performance of the RTX 2080 Super.
This is the most powerful and affordable version of the RTX 2080 Super, so if you are using a Maxwell card or older, and you are waiting to jump into the RTX wagon, this is for you by all accounts, as it makes for a compelling case for an upgrade.
But if you weren’t impressed by the upgrade from Pascal when the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti were launched, then by large the small rise in performance here in the GTX 1080 Ti won’t convince you.
The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super is a more powerful and less expensive version of the original RTX 2080, which is very cool and can attract many people, but even so this alone may be enough to convince the people who were sitting on the Turing fence.
We would have appreciated the drop in price if nothing else,
as with access to advanced graphics they could only be beneficial to everyone.
So if you’re in the market for a high-end graphics card with unique rugged performance, now might be the time to jump on the Nvidia Turing train.
