Plantronics Backbeat Go 810 headphones come at a very reasonable price, along with great features like strong battery life and Active Noise Cancellation.

Fast Talk

The all-new Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 headphones is an excellent choice if you are on a budget and want headphones with great features.

And these headphones are designed just like the BackBeat Pro 2, but with lower quality materials.

But when it comes to sound quality, it is almost at par but you will lose some of the features.

The Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 is an excellent pair of wireless noise canceling headphones for those on a budget.

Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 Headphones cost $ 150, £ 140 AU $ 240 just like the BackBeat Pro 2, but with lesser quality materials.

But if you are looking for some other alternatives, there are the Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 headphones, which are one of our favorites because they provide excellent sound and great build quality, but they come at a slightly higher price (£ 230, AU $ 250).

FOR

  • Great battery life
  • Decent ANC
  • Great bluetooth connection
  • Good and intuitive operating controls

AGAINST

  • The build quality is tough
  • Do not fold at the hinges
  • Bass’s notes are strongly emphasized
  • Micro-USB charging port

BackBeat Go 810 Comfortable Design

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 headphones have a minimalist design that is more discreet than the BackBeat Pro 2’s brother, but that’s not an issue.

The Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 comes with a design that is mostly made of plastic, silicone, and metal, and the headband is made of plastic and lined with a cloth which is quite comfortable.

The headphones also have ear pads made of plastic and silicone from the outside and synthetic leather for their earplugs, and each ear cup is cover with silicone, but it attracts a lot of dust despite its durability.

Overall, the combination of plastic and synthetic leather makes the headphones very comfortable for long-term wear, making them suitable for travel, and the strong design quality helps attach the ear cups to the headband and allows the headphones to fold flat for travel.

Very smooth connection with Many many Buttons

As for the connectivity in the Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 headphones, they are great, so when the tests I connect it to an iPad about five feet away, I had no problems with the dropouts at all, and I also walked about 50 feet and the music didn’t skip a beat.

The volume tuning and track skipping on the Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 work fine at that distance, and some videos are perfectly sync and some are slightly down.

The Plantronics Backbeat Go 810 has a lot of ports and buttons, the left earpiece has controls that are use in playback to pause or skip between tracks, and there are volume control buttons along the edge of the ear piece as well.

And at the bottom of the left ear cup is a 3.5mm micro USB input for charging, and the right earcup has one switch for Bluetooth pairing / power and a button to toggle between two EQ presets.

Very Impressive Battery Life

As for the battery life of the Plantronics Backbeat Go 810 headphones, they are great as they have a battery that lasts 22 hours of continuous operation, and we have done several tests and Find it to be better than that, as we were able to squeeze an entire day of listening out of them with a final runtime of 24 hours.

Unfortunately, these headphones still charge via micro-USB, meaning that during my testing, these headphones were the only items in my bag that required the older port, so you’ll need to carry a cable of their own. USB Type-C would have made it more futuristic.

Audio Performance: Good enough considering the price

As for sound quality, the Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 headphones provide good sound quality, but they lack some of the details.

For example, the tonal balance is slightly warmer than the neutral, and the speakers do not provide much detail.

Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 Dual-mode active noise canceling

We tested the headphones with ANC on and off and found they looked better with ANC on. With ANC disabled, headphone bass becomes overwhelming and sounds loose.

We also noticed an annoying faint whisper when there is no music playing, which is not the case with the Platronics BackBeat Pro 2.

The ANC in the Go 810 is good, but it lacks a lot especially compare with leaders like the Bose QC 35 II and the Sony WH-1000XM3, but despite that these headphones do a good job at blocking the noise of crowded trips but the sound and higher frequencies still pass. .

The Plantronics BackBeat GO 810 also has a very good battery life of 22 hours with ANC enabled and up to 28 hours with ANC disabled.

Conclusion

The Plantronics Backbeat Go 810 is a very affordable headphone with great capabilities.

For example, the natural isolation of the ear cups along with ANC does a good job of eliminating some background noise.

But to be honest don’t expect the complete isolation you get from the likes of Bose or Sony.

It also has a great connection with no skips and a lot of range, but watching YouTube videos works well or is missing.

The battery is great and it lasts for a long time with the availability of the fast charging feature.

Overall, the Backbeat Go 810 highlights the important parts, making it a great pair of wireless headphones.
