We have long been waiting for the new Samsung Galaxy S21, as it is a flagship phone that has a very elegant design with powerful and impressive performance.
Samsung Galaxy S21: Fast Talk
Several years ago, the Galaxy S series focused on the necessity to have the wonderful features found in the leading phones in the market, but with the Galaxy S21 phones, Samsung decided to get rid of adding many new features and improvements over the previous models.
It produced the Galaxy S21, which is a premium Android smartphone that is $ 200 cheaper than the Galaxy S20.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch screen, and with a stylish design with three rear cameras, and a 4000 mAh battery, in addition to the new color schemes, it comes with a very powerful performance with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor, it is considered an upgraded phone; But the big changes are coming with the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
- Excellent dynamic display 120 Hz
- Strong performance
- Polished design
- Powerful camera zoom
- There is no charger or microSD card slot
- Plastic back
- Some inconsistencies in the camera
Samsung Galaxy S21: Pricing
The Samsung Galaxy S21 phone starts at $ 799 with a large storage capacity of 128 GB, and you can also get a larger storage capacity by adding an additional $ 50 for the 256 GB model for $ 849.
Now available in the UK at a price of £ 769 for the 128GB model, with double the storage capacity that brings it back to £ 819, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is cheaper than the 5G Galaxy S20 which comes at £ 899.
And when it comes to charging, like new Apple phones, there’s only a USB-C cable in the box, so you’ll need to pay for a charger if you don’t already have one.

Samsung Galaxy S21: Smooth Design With Flat Edges
The Samsung Galaxy S21 comes in a similar design to the Galaxy S20, it has a 6.2-inch full screen with a stylish selfie camera in the middle of the upper part of the screen.
The curved screen does not exist in this release, but we do not agree with this matter, as curved screens on Android phones that contain screens less than 6.5 inches tend to be a bit slippery, and large phones feel a little more comfortable with the curved edges when performing exercises Fingers to access your various applications located on the bottom or top of the screen.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with flat edges that lead to flowing metallic edges into the new “Contour Cut” camera design.
The phone has a plastic back called polycarbonate, but it is basically a luxurious plastic, and this may be the reason for the phone’s price drop slightly from the previous version, but this new design makes it less likely to escape from your grip.
It has several very soft and delicate colors, measuring 6 x 2.8 x 0.31 inches and weighs 6.07 ounces.
One of the cool things is the presence of an ultrasound fingerprint reader, it is also more responsive thanks to the use of the new scanner from Qualcomm.
Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot, and we don’t know the reason for that as there are no clear restrictions on space inside the Galaxy S21, but we think it’s a way to encourage people to buy the 265GB version.
Bright and Shiny Display
The Samsung Galaxy S21 features a 6.2-inch AMOLED screen, so you no longer have to choose between Full HD + working at 120Hz or QHD working at 60Hz, as the phone is very cool at 1080p.
And you can easily set the screen to 60 Hz, if you want to get the largest possible battery life, in addition to the possibility of abandoning the dynamic refresh rate, which allows the S21 to drop the refresh rate from 120 Hz to 48 Hz, and this is a smart upgrade that makes Using S21 is more fun.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 screen provides color gamut coverage of 109.2% sRGB and 77.4% DCI-P3, and Delta-E of 0.29, and these are good results, but the iPhone 12 definitely outperforms it in terms of coverage and color accuracy.
But overall, the Samsung Galaxy S21’s screen is great as it has heaps of contrast and colors, so you will have a lot of fun when watching videos and movies, taking Instagram photos and playing games.
Software: One UI 3
Samsung Galaxy S21 One UI 3 offers a very cool interface complete with a redesigned fast panel and less cluttered notification screen, it also has redesigned lock screen tools as well as the ability to place user interface elements on the screen and adjust its transparency.
The interface comes with a lot of options to tweak the Galaxy experience, but it can get a little confusing.
But what I didn’t like a little bit was that One UI 3 was trying to force me to use Samsung Pass and my Samsung account, so it took me some time to get used to it.
But the One UI 3 has generally better interface than the previous version, as it comes with a lot of powerful tools like Samsung DeX, which allows the Galaxy S21 and other compatible Galaxy devices, to connect to an external screen, which enables you to turn the phone into a fake Chrome OS experience.
Samsung Galaxy S21Cameras: Wonderful picture quality, various modes
In terms of cameras, the camera zoom can be very helpful for grabbing a photo of your kids or your pets.
And in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S21 that 64 megapixel so-called telephoto lens, may rely more on image cropping than actual optical zoom abilities.
But it’s also strong enough to get a closer view of the action with compromising on picture quality, to some degree at least once you pass the 10-time zoom lock, things will start to get a bit grainy.
But this will certainly suit the average consumer just fine for a little bit of zoom action.
More important is that 12 megapixel primary lens which seems to be well up to the task of snapping your everyday existence, even in quite taxing conditions.
It’s just a handful of sample picks I’ve taken so far on the galaxy S21, all of them using that auto mode, just point and shoot.
Low light shots especially impress boston bright and sharp image capture.
Of course this wouldn’t be a Samsung camera without enough bonus mods, and I’m once again loving that single take mode.
It’s been updated with a couple of extra features here, including a slow down speed up effort that I’m still not entirely sold on, but as a whole it’s still a tool that I love using.
And all of Samsung’s other photo features seem to work at least as well as usual including the portrait mode and handy night mode which can further brighten up any low light snaps.
And that pro mode for tweaking individual settings and capturing in raw format.
However it’s the video chops of Samsung’s galaxy s series smartphones that i really adore and certainly in that area so far.
Camera Testing, Video Quality
The headline grabber here is once again the 8k video capture at 24 frames per second with the video snap feature that allows you to effortlessly grab ultra high-res photos when playing back in the gallery.
So far though I’ve been mostly shooting test footage in 4k resolution at 60 frames per second giving you great natural looking home movies.
Audio pickup is good that super nippy focus keeps your subject sharp as attack, and if you drop down to 4k resolution at 30 frames per second.
You can also freely hop between all three lenses on the fly with pretty smooth transitions.
If you want to get in closer, you can pinch in at up to a 12 time zoom maximum, but once you pass that sort of eight-ish time zoom mod things do start to get a bit grainy.
The director’s view mode is a completely separate camera mode which can swap between the different lenses on the fly as well, but also give you a preview of all of them at the same time.
And you can also shoot with the front camera simultaneously using the vlogger’s view.
The front camera has 10 megapixel selfie camera, you can actually shoot up to 4k resolution video at 60 frames per second, and the audio seems nice and clear.
Performance: Significant superiority over many other Android phones
In terms of performance, the Samsung Galaxy S21 has the latest Snapdragon 888 chip, which promises 20% better CPU performance, 35% faster GPU speed, in addition to a great and improved AI performance.
Unfortunately there is only 8GB of RAM, but overall we did not see any slowdown in testing.
During tests, we found that the chip achieved a multi-core score of 3,302 on Geekbench 5. This is slower than the iPhone 12.
In terms of graphics performance, the Samsung Galaxy S21 camera at 33 frames per second topped the 3DMark wildlife graphics benchmark, outperforming other leading Android phones.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is also great in games, as we ran Call of Duty Mobile, and the performance was very impressive and smooth at maximum settings, even with an increase in the refresh rate of 120 Hz.
With so many games open and loads of others running simultaneously, we haven’t seen any slowdowns or lack of response from the phone.
Battery Life and Charging
As for the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S21, it comes with a 4000 mAh battery, which is good for a phone of its size, as well as the adaptive refresh rate and the improved chip efficiency provides better battery life.
During the tests, we needed the phone at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and was able to withstand up to 9 hours and 53 minutes in a test that included continuous web browsing at 150 nits of brightness for the screen via 5G, and this is considered superior to the iPhone 12, which holds 8 hours and 25 minutes .
The Samsung Galaxy S21 features a default “adaptive” mode, which dynamically adjusts the screen refresh rate.
For charging, fast charging is available via the USB-C PD standard, which increases battery life to 55% in 30 minutes, there is only a USB-C cable in the box, so you do not have a charger, Samsung will sell you a 25W charger.
In the end, we can say that the Samsung Galaxy S21 is really worth buying, although it is certain that the plastic back is not ideal in a leading phone, but the overall design is beautiful and elegant.
There are no hardware upgrades for the cameras, and this is a bit disappointing, but despite that, the camera offers a great experience in terms of image quality.
All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S21 introduces the latest major chips, with an impressive screen and powerful cameras in a sleek smartphone at a competitive price.
