The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra surprised us with its presence in the market before its expected launch date, and we have been waiting for this phone since it was announced.
It comes with a huge screen and five cameras, and it’s cheaper than the “Ultra” last year, but it remains expensive.
Galaxy S21 Ultra: Fast Talk
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is now in the grip of our hands, and this phone is the phone of everything, as it comes with more cameras, and better specifications as a brilliant and bright screen with a very elegant design, in addition to compatibility with the S Pen to exceed the Note 20 Ultra.
Among the great things that are very present, are the cameras, there are five cameras led by a 108-megapixel sensor, two telephoto cameras, in addition to 100x zoom, which offers great results and 40-megapixel selfies.
It also supports 5G networks, all-day battery life and up to 16 GB of RAM, in addition to a 6.8-inch Quad HD 120 Hz screen and a fingerprint sensor.
It comes with the new Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, and the great thing is that it is much higher than the “Ultra” phone last year, because its main camera is equipped with laser beams to deal with auto focus problems on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
This gives you incredibly impressive results, and the dynamic range is impressive.
The levels of 10x and 3x optical zoom in the S21 Ultra are more than any smartphone telephoto camera.
The design is also impressive, with a gently curved edge-to-edge screen, a smaller bump for the rear camera, and a matte black option that does not attract Fingerprints.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra was released on Friday, January 29th, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra is also significantly cheaper than the previous model S20 Ultra, starting at $ 1,199 / £ 1,149 / AU $ 1,849 for a variant with 128 internal storage. GB, 12 GB RAM.

Galaxy S21 Ultra: Smooth, Elegant Design
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a great looking smartphone, it comes in a matte phantom black color with few seams that help reduce camera bump and fingerprint stains.
Both the deep Vantablack Phantom Black and Phantom Silver are available anywhere, and the Samsung online store itself offers three additional options: Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy, and Phantom Brown.
It has a smooth back Gorilla Glass which gives a very smooth and elegant feel.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 6.8-inch screen, and the screen is curved from edge to edge with a 40-megapixel front camera that hides behind a small, easy-to-ignore hole.
Galaxy S21 Ultra Display (Quad HD)
As for the screen on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, it comes for the first time at a smooth refresh rate of 120 Hz with Quad HD high resolution, no more forced to choose between 120Hz / 60Hz and Quad HD / Full HD, and you should pay attention, as Quad HD drains your battery faster.
The body measures 6.8 inches, thanks in large part to the curved screen and the narrowness of the Samsung device in general.
We have done several tests regarding screen brightness, and found that it automatically increases the ultra-bright brightness to 1500 nits when necessary, it outperforms both the S21 and S21 Plus, reaching a maximum of 1,200 nits.
There is a redesigned fingerprint sensor on the screen that uses ultrasound technology from Qualcomm, and it was very comfortable and responsive.
Galaxy S21 Ultra Features: S Pen, 5G
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra supports the S Pen using the built-in Wacom digitizer. The S Pen provides many functions such as drawing, planning, and taking notes, and is useful for signing documents quickly.
Sold separately and costs approximately $ 69.99, along with compatible cases.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra also offers support for 5G networks, which leads to higher peak speeds while providing better energy efficiency.
During my tests, the performance was very strong, as I saw download speeds in excess of 160 Mbps. It’s not cool.
The phone also supports Wi-Fi 6E, faster speeds and more bandwidth when you have a compatible Wi-Fi 6E router.
The phone also has a docking station for Samsung’s new Galaxy SmartTags, which you can use with the SmartThings Find app to track everything from your keys to your bag.
Galaxy S21 Ultra Cameras: Very Impressive Results
In terms of cameras, they are a big part of the Samsung galaxy S21 Ultra, it has 108 megapixels, 100 times zoom, 8k video, all that stuff is still here.
I think the experience has actually changed more than the photo quality.
Photo quality is still roughly what we’d expect from a high-end Samsung phone, but there are more changes to how you get to that photo and video, there are better.
There’s countless examples of this, so when you first open the Camera app, Samsung asks you if you want to take natural or bright selfies instead of just defaulting to bright all the time.
I’m happy they added that option, they didn’t have to, but that results in much more natural selfies from that 40 megapixel camera.
The 100x space zoom is definitely extreme and probably still a gimmick to most people.
It got a lot more stable and easier to use, thanks to the subject locking in the viewfinder, so when you’re zoom all the way in on something,
the camera tries to identify the subject of the photo you’re taking, and locks the viewfinder to track instead of shaking around so much.
It is slightly annoying when you’re lock onto something, that’s not quite what you’re trying to shoot, and then you have to try to adjust it.
When it correctly picks your subject
it’s great the results are still insane and not super usable, but if you were using 100x before, you’ll be happier with how much easier it is to use.
Of course the laser autofocus added to fix the autofocus issues we saw with the S20 ultra, and I’d say in 75 percent of cases it works, it sometimes still hunts a little bit with the really close-up subjects, but for the most part it’s solved.
Testing: Video Quality, 3x,10x
This phone doesn’t have one because it doesn’t need one, it uses the ultrawide camera which has auto focus and a super close minimum focus distance, so it actually takes really solid quality macros.
And it does 4k 60fps video from all the cameras now including the selfie camera, and it’ll shoot 12-bit raw photos in pro mode which is an awesome capability.
They’ve added things like the director’s view which lets you record video from multiple cameras simultaneously which is enabled by the snapdragon 8, potentially really useful for vlog style shooting.
And the use of two telephoto cameras, a 3x and a 10x seemed peculiar at first, but I’ve found it actually makes a lot of sense.
Samsung’s committed to offering that quality super far zoom on this phone, so if they did the 10x by itself and not the 3x, well then everything from 1x to 10x would be digital zoom on the main sensor, and that’s not ideal.
This is a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and it’s an incredible good phone, but the thing is not only does it do a lot on paper because we already know about the big numbers, the huge specs, the ultra story that’s all still here, but it does a lot of stuff that doesn’t show up on the specs sheet, a lot of subtle tweaks and changes that turn this from a really good phone to great one.
Galaxy S21 Ultra: Long Lasting Battery
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra also comes with a very impressive battery life, so it can last with you all day, as we tested the battery while surfing the Internet on the 5G network and playing some games, and the 5000 mAh battery lasted 11 hours and 25 minutes, and this It is considered a remarkable advantage over the iPhone 12 Pro Max in 10:53, as it has the best battery life you can have in any phone.
You will find less battery with adaptive mode on (up to 120Hz), when tests reach 10 hours and 7 minutes.
One of the frustrating things is that there is no charger included in the box, it seems that Samsung followed the same plan as the new Apple phones, so if you do not have USB-C, that means more money is spent.
Very Impressive Performance (Great Results)
In terms of overall performance, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the first phones to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset, with 12GB or 16GB of RAM.
This is considered enough for us to enjoy the wonderful and impressive performance of the phone, in the Geekbench 5 tests, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra achieved 3440 in the multi-core test and 1123 in the single-core test, and this is considered the best results we have seen from an Android phone.
In the 3DMark Wild Life graphics benchmark test, it reached 34 frames per second, which is considered good as well.
And with Adobe Premiere Rush, it took the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra about one minute to convert 4K video to 1080p.
It also has great performance to a large extent when it comes to games, as we did tests and tried Call of Duty and Pubg and the results were great.
Unfortunately there are a bunch of specific storage options to choose from for the S21 Ultra – 128, 256, or 512GB, as Samsung has ditched the microSD card slot.
Samsung has succeeded in improving the phone wonderfully, as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with incredibly impressive features and capabilities, starting with the large screen that is considered the best in its class, and the much-improved cameras and the technologies inside them.
In addition to its amazing long-lasting battery life and great performance, the support for the S Pen is a bonus even more due to the added cost.
But there are some downsides there though, which is the lack of a charger and a microSD card slot.
But overall, if you are looking for the pinnacle of Android phones, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the best.
