It provides you with a charging case inspired by the car key to store and operate it on the go, and the best of this is that these buds come at a very reasonable price: $ 25.

But there are some reservations about Skullcandy Dime based on the MSRP, Skullcandy’s track record might also make you suspicious to purchase these buds either for personal use or as cheap stock, but after doing so many tests I can assure you that this budget pair of buds is worth the investment and faces Shortcomings and everything.

Skullcandy Dime is available exclusively on Skullcandy at the moment, and it comes at $ 25 and is available in four colors: dark blue / green, light gray / blue, taupe, and true black.

Modern Design with Great Build Quality

The design of the Skullcandy Dime earbuds closely resembles modern designs, as the company’s move into the true wireless space brought about a change of style.

It has a clean and simple design, while keeping the integrity of bold colors, and Dime is appealing, with small accentuation, bold colors and a stem silhouette that doesn’t stand out as awkwardly as it does on AirPods.

Skullcandy Dime has an impressive build quality, the buds are made entirely of durable plastic and are IPX4 rate for sweat and water resistance – that’s the same protection on the AirPods Pro.

These buds will not shatter if you drop them on the concrete by mistake, not even from a three-story fall, as the exterior surface is difficult to penetrate.

Comes in an ultra-small charging case, it looks just like a car key chain, giving it some distinction, and the cover has two pieces that display the front of the bud when docked.

There is a small cord to attach your keys, which is a great way to improve Skullcandy Dime’s portability, but although the material is durable, the cap will tear if you open it forcefully.

Overall, the Skullcandy Dime offered a satisfying fit, as the silicone tips created a tight seal inside my ear and felt gently around the canal.

During my tests I wore them a short distance around the block to test stability and they stayed in place the entire time, but I don’t recommend wearing a Skullcandy Dime for long listening sessions; Stick to an hour or two, depending on your pain threshold.

Features: Battery Life and Charging , Connection

Skullcandy Dime earbuds come with a short battery life, as Skullcandy state that a single charge will generate 3.5 hours of operating time, and unfortunately there is no sleep mode to automatically turn off the headphones when disable, so be careful not to turn them off when not in use.

But one of the things really special is the presence of fast charging (MIA) as well, these sprouts come charged 90 percent directly from the box, and if you use them sparingly, you’ll enjoy about 1.5 hours per day before having to recharge them on the third day.

As for the small charging case, it can last up to 12 hours when fully charged, which is not too bad.

Skullcandy Dime’s earbuds also have good call quality, so my friend could hear most of my words, but he also mention that my voice would be intermittently cut off.

And when I was outside, it was so bad that no part of the surrounding noise made its way into our conversations.

But the great thing here is that Skullcandy Dime has reliable wireless performance, as these headphones show great connectivity, backed by Bluetooth 5.0 and programmed with its own auto-connect feature to instantly pair the speakers with known devices.

The range also comes solid, allowing me about 30 feet of wireless listening before I start to stutter.

Very Useful Controls

As for the controls in Skullcandy Dime, they were divided between the buds, the control system is as follows: play / pause / answer the call / end the call (press once), increase / decrease the volume (press twice), in addition to having Digital Assist (3x press), forward / backward skip (long press).

The advantage here is that the logo doubles as a button to carry out commands and produces a nice touch and responds to pressures, but the bad news is that it is not as practical to use as the pressure gestures system in AirPods Pro. Skullcandy Buds require you to place your thumb on the lower torso for stability and use your finger to apply pressure, but we found that with the button positioned directly in the center, you push all of the bud’s pressure into your ears and apply unwanted pressure.

Skullcandy Dime’s ear buds provide support for both Siri and Google Assistant, although the latter works more smoothly, and it picks up voice commands accurately, while Google’s AI bot registered and responded quickly.

Performance: Not the best thing

As for the audio performance in Skullcandy Dime is not the best thing, and we expected that with a really good seal between your ears and the tips of the rubber earbud, we would find the sound really good, but other than that, the sound is hollow and small.

And during the tests we tried many different size ear tips several times and I really couldn’t get a solid seal, and you can solve the problem by applying pressure to your ear and holding it firmly to create a sense of sound that might be possible with a full seal.

Indy ANC in ear headphones are better than Skullcandy Dime, as they are deep and rich.

We listened to all kinds of music, but Skullcandy Dime sounded weak. From pop to rock to classical, it was all heavy on higher frequencies and lacking in depth.

Unfortunately, the music was a disappointment, as it shifted to focus on other audio content, such as audiobooks and podcasts.

But podcasts and audiobooks sounded good because human voice tends to live at the frequencies that come stronger with these earbuds.

Despite the sound shortcomings of the Skullcandy Dime earbuds, they may still be worth considering. As they have a reasonable price tag, combined with their functionality, they are generally considered good enough value to fill a specialist need for you.

It’s IPX4 waterproof, so it can withstand sweat and rain.

But in general if there is a circumstance where a pair of low-cost earbuds gives you some worry about losing or breaking, these might be perfect, and as long as you don’t expect impressive sound, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
